If you want to delete your LumenChat account and all the data associated with it, you can do so by following the instructions below. This process is irreversible.
1 How to Request Deletion
You can request the deletion of your account in two ways:
- From the app: Go to Profile > Settings > Delete account. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the deletion.
- By email: Send an email to our support team requesting the deletion of your account. Include the email associated with your account or your user ID.
2 Data That Will Be Deleted
When you delete your account, the following will be permanently erased:
- Profile: Your display name, age, gender, and profile pictures
- Messages: All text, image, and voice messages you sent and received
- Media: Images and audio files shared in chats, plus your avatar
- History: Conversation and match history
- Preferences: Search filters and app settings
- Push tokens: Device identifiers used to send you notifications
3 Data We May Retain
For legal or safety reasons, we may keep the following for a limited time:
- Reports: If you reported or were reported by another user, those records (and the conversation involved) may be kept for up to 12 months for safety investigations and to enforce bans.
- Banned-account records: If your account was banned, we may keep enough information to prevent ban evasion.
- Encrypted backups: Backups may persist for up to 30 days after deletion before being overwritten.
- Anonymized logs: Technical logs that do not identify you personally may be retained longer for analytics and abuse prevention.
- Legal records: Any data we are required to retain by law.
4 Processing Time
Important: Account deletion is processed within 30 days of receiving your request. You will receive a confirmation email when the process is complete.
During this period your account is deactivated immediately and is no longer visible to other users.
5 Before You Delete Your Account
Before going through with deletion, please consider:
- Save any information from your conversations that you want to keep, since it cannot be recovered after deletion.
- If you're having issues with the app, please contact us first — we may be able to help you without needing to delete your account.
- If your account was banned and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal by replying to the ban notification email or writing to soporte@lumenchat.app instead of deleting your account.
